About the Game

Pokémon Platinum is the enhanced third version of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, released by Game Freak and Nintendo for the Nintendo DS in 2008 (Japan) and 2009 (worldwide). Set in the Sinnoh region, it expanded on Diamond and Pearl with a reworked story involving the Distortion World, an expanded Pokédex, a redesigned Battle Frontier, and significant quality-of-life improvements across the board. It remains one of the most beloved entries in the mainline series.

In May 2026, an unofficial native PC port surfaced online, bundled with full source code for Windows and Linux. The port requires no ROM file or additional setup to run and is reported as fully playable with only minor graphical issues. It is believed to be derived from source code that emerged during Nintendo’s 2020 data breach rather than a clean-room reverse engineering effort, which has raised legal concerns in the community.

Port Features

  • Internal 3D resolution scaling via config file (10x by default)
  • 60fps patch enabled by default with speed fixes
  • In-game IMGUI overlay via Tab key with adjustable screen layout
  • Touchscreen simulation via mouse
  • Full save support
  • Local and online multiplayer over LAN or internet (port 2009)
  • Union Room and Underground multiplayer
  • WiFi Plaza, WiFi Club support, and partial GTS
  • Configurable DNS (Poke Classic DNS by default)
  • Same source tree can build both the PC port and the original NDS ROM

Legal Status

Unlike clean-room ports such as the Zelda or Mario 64 decomps, this port is believed to originate from leaked Nintendo source code. Its long-term availability is uncertain and it may be subject to takedown action. We link to the GBAtemp discussion thread rather than the direct download out of caution.
