Super Mario Galaxy 2 Update Ver. 1.4.0 Adds New Storybook Entry



Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been updated to version 1.4.0.

The update adds a new storybook chapter and includes general fixes for a smoother experience on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

How To Update Super Mario Galaxy 2

Applies to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch OLED Model.

Auto-update note: If your console is connected to the internet and Software Auto-Updates is enabled, the update should download and install automatically.

1. Connect your console to the internet.
2. Highlight Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the HOME Menu without opening it.
3. Press the + or – button.
4. Select Software Update, then Via the Internet.

• General fixes and gameplay adjustments for smoother performance.
• A new storybook chapter unlocks after Final Chapter is available, then you clear a galaxy and collect a Power Star.

Additional Nintendo Japan Update (Translated)

Nintendo says a new chapter continues the story of the twin Luma characters (called Chiko in Japanese), and new picture book music is now available on Nintendo Music.
