Introduction
In this guide, I show you how to create your very own YSMenu theme using SignaPic YasUI.
Installation
There are 2 versions of SignaPic YasUI. Both have identical features. The Minified version (922 KB) could be useful for slow connections, but Anti-virus software often misunderstands it as a virus (false-positive).
Pro Tip: Using the Photoshop Template
To make designing easier, I created a Photoshop (.psd) template that is perfectly sized for the DSi/R4 aspect ratios. This ensures your background images fit perfectly without distortion.
Basic Tutorial
- Run the application, click 'Image > Load' (or CTRL+Shift+O) to open an image.
- Choose 'Text Color > Automate Color' (or F9) to allow the program to detect optimal text colors.
- If you want to define your own color, click on the text to open the color picker.
- Insert your Flashcart SD Card.
- Click 'APPLY NOW' and choose the `TTMenu` folder.
- Test it on your Nintendo DS device.
Troubleshooting: Color Bugs
SignaPic YasUI has a known bug related to certain colors in the `YSMenu.ini` file. To fix this, use the Color Converter tool below to convert HTML color codes into BIT15 format.
Tips
- Save your project: 'Project > Save'.
- Add your own 'signature' by double-clicking the 'Yasu Software - YSMenu' text.
- Use the 'Finalize' feature before distributing your theme (makes it read-only).
Using SignaPic YasUI Libs
You can click 'YASUI LIBS' in the app to search for themes. Double-click an item to preview, or click 'USE' to apply it immediately.
