Starship is one of the more technically impressive N64 fan ports to show up recently, bringing Star Fox 64 to PC with native builds and RT64-powered rendering. It keeps the original game’s look and feel intact while letting the presentation scale much better on modern displays.
The project supports ultrawide resolutions, high framerates, mod loading, and modern rendering upgrades, making it a much nicer way to revisit the rail shooter outside of original hardware or emulation. It also slots neatly into the broader wave of native N64 desktop ports that have taken off over the last couple of years.
Starship has releases for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Players still need to provide their own compatible Star Fox 64 ROM to generate the required game assets.
