Metroid: Super Zero Mission by ShadowOne333 is one of the most impressive crossover ROM hacks ever made for the SNES. It rebuilds the entire GBA game Metroid Zero Mission using the Super Metroid engine, adapting every area, boss, map layout, and item pickup from the 2004 Game Boy Advance title into the SNES framework.
The hack adds the full original Zebes map from Zero Mission including the ancient ruins, the Space Pirate mothership sequence, and the fully realised Ridley Lair layout. Super Metroid physics, walljumping, and beam stacking are preserved, giving the Zero Mission level design a different movement feel while maintaining the same world geography.
Custom tilesets, a new colour palette closely matching Zero Mission visual style, and rebalanced item progression make the hack feel like an official crossover. It patches to a clean Super Metroid SNES ROM and plays in any SNES emulator.
