Super Mario Maker 2 is possibly the best 2D Mario experience ever made, filled with infinite levels, a robust creation tool, and massive post-launch updates. The user-friendly level creation tool offers a natural touch interface in handheld mode, while docked mode with a controller also works effectively after a learning curve. All course parts are unlocked immediately, and the new radial menu system makes object selection fast and categorized.
The game features five styles for building: Super Mario Bros., SMB3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros. U, and the new Super Mario 3D World style. The 3D World style is unique with its own physics and blocks. Themes have been upgraded with Day and Night variations, totaling 90 different looks, and Night themes introduce unique gameplay modifiers.
The Course World offers infinite levels and easy sorting categories, though it omits searching by level name. Offline play, which allows downloading courses, is also a valuable feature.
