About the Game

Banjo-Kazooie Finally Gets a Native PC Port

Banjo: Recompiled is a native PC port of Banjo-Kazooie built with static recompilation technology, giving Rare’s N64 classic a much cleaner life on modern desktop hardware. It is one of the biggest fan port releases of the year simply because Banjo is such a beloved game and the quality-of-life improvements are immediately noticeable.

What It Improves

The port supports widescreen, ultrawide displays, high framerates, dual-stick camera control, very fast loading, and mod compatibility. It also folds in useful touches like note-saving behavior inspired by later versions of the game, making it easier to revisit without sanding off the game’s identity.

Platform Support

Banjo: Recompiled has builds for Windows, Linux, and macOS, and it has also earned a lot of attention from Steam Deck users. As with the other recompilation-based ports, you still need to provide your own compatible North American ROM to play it.
