Create Stunning YSMenu Themes
SignaPic YasUI is the premier tool for customizing YSMenu (the custom firmware for R4 and other DS flashcarts). It allows you to transform the functional but plain interface into a personalized masterpiece.
The Setup
- Obtain the YSMenu theme template files (256×192 bitmapped images).
- Launch YasUI on your PC.
- Import your artwork and use the previewer to ensure text and icons don’t clash with your background.
BIT15 Color Conversion
The DS hardware uses a unique 15-bit color space. YasUI includes a built-in converter that translates standard RGB HEX codes into the BIT15 values required for your YSMenu.ini configuration file. This ensures your theme colors look exactly as intended on the actual handheld.
Installation
Export your finished theme and copy the folder to /_ds_menu/themes/ on your flashcart’s SD card. You can then select your new theme from the YSMenu settings menu.
